V Rising | How to upload your V Rising Save file

This article will show you how you can upload your existing V Rising world to your server.

If you want to upload your save file from your PC

note

V rising has updated and save contents are now located in the V2 folder. V1 is legacy

  1. Navigate to %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Stunlock Studios\VRising\Saves in your Windows PC

  1. Click on the v1 folder and this is where you will find all of your world saves. They will have randomly generated folder names with numbers and letters.

  1. If you have more than one world, you'll need to confirm which world you wish to upload by entering the world folders, and then viewing the ServerHostSettings.json file and looking at the Name field.

  1. Upload your save folder to /saves via SFTP

if you are unsure how to setup an FTP client you can follow this guide

  1. Go into configuration files > Server Host Settings and click on config editor

  1. Make sure the save name matches the folder name that you uploaded.

  1. Click save & exit

  2. Start the server

If you are uploading from a dedicated server

  1. if you are hosting via a dedicated server generally the save location will be %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Stunlock Studios\VRisingServer\Saves This can be dependent on your hosting provider, some of them point to the Saves or save-data within the root directory of your game server.

  2. Upload your save folder to /saves via SFTP

    • Upload the entire folder named Saves

    • Generally, for dedicated servers, the save name is world1

  1. click save & exit

  2. start the server
