Rust | How to install/update uMod
Installing and updating uMod on your Rust server is a straightforward process. In this guide, we will walk you through the steps to install uMod for the first time and how to update it when necessary.
On certain occasions during a steam update, the uMod core files may be replaced. To reinstall uMod, please proceed with the following steps.
Installing uMod for the First Time
- Log in to your game panel at https://gamecp.hyperlayer.net/.
- Click on the
Mod Manager
tab.
- Look for the option to
Install
uMod and click on it.
- That's it! uMod is now successfully installed, and you can start your server.
Updating uMod
When a Rust update is released, there's a chance that uMod needs to be updated to remain compatible with the new version. There are two methods to update uMod:
Keep in mind that our system will detect and update uMod during a Steam update, making Method 2
mostly unnecessary. However, we provide this method as an additional guide for manual updates.
Method 1: Updating Rust via Steam Update (Recommended)
- If you already have uMod installed, simply run a Steam update for your Rust server.
- Our system will automatically detect the presence of uMod and update it accordingly.
- This streamlined process ensures your uMod installation remains up to date with the latest Rust version.
Method 2: Updating uMod via the Mod Manager Tab
- After performing a Steam update, uMod's core files may get overwritten.
- To re-install uMod, navigate to the
Mod Manager
tab on your game panel. - Click on
Install
to re-install uMod and ensure its compatible with the updated Rust version.
