Dayz | Adding a Custom Map to DayZ Server

Before you begin the process of adding a custom map to your DayZ server, make sure you have access to your server's FTP client and the necessary files for the custom map.

First, you need to stop your DayZ server to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted uploading process.
Using your FTP client, connect to your server and navigate to the mpmissions folder. Upload all the files and folders related to the custom map to this directory.

In the game panel, locate and click on the Configuration Files icon. This will give you access to various configuration files that control different aspects of your DayZ server.

Look for the Main configuration file (serverDZ.cfg) and click on the Text Editor link next to it. This will allow you to modify the settings in the configuration file.

Scroll down to the bottom of the serverDZ.cfg file until you find the mission template section. This is where you specify which map the server should load. By default, it might look like this:

template="dayzOffline.chernarusplus"; //used mission

Replace it with the name of your custom map as follows:

template="<the name of the map in the mpmissions folder>"

Ensure that you use the exact name of the custom map that is in your mp missions folder

After you've made the necessary changes to the serverDZ.cfg file, press the save and exit button.
Once the changes are saved, return to the game panel and start your DayZ server. It will now load the custom map you added.
After starting your server, join it in-game and thoroughly test the custom map. Verify that everything functions correctly and that players can explore and interact with the new environment without issues. If any problems arise, double-check your map files, server configuration.

By following these steps, you should be able to successfully add a custom map to your DayZ server, allowing you and your players to enjoy a fresh and unique gameplay experience.
